Other Distance Education Courses for UNO Credit

UNO serves hundreds of students each year via Distance Education.  However, the University may not always have the course you are looking for at this time.  You have several options should this occur.  You can visit one of the three sites listed below, and through their various search tools, you may find the course you need.  Among the sites listed below are consortia of schools offering courses at a distance.

Please keep in mind that although UNO has agreements with member institutions in these consortia, the final decision to transfer credit for the courses they offer to a UNO degree program is made by the UNO Admissions office and your academic advisor. Before enrolling in a course, check with your academic advisor to get approval to transfer credit.

The National University Degrees Consortium, NUDC, is made up of schools from around the United States. The search tool found on this site will list all courses regardless of the semester they are offered. You may also find courses at certain schools that allow open enrollment.  That is, they allow students to enroll in courses and complete course requirements at times other than the beginning and end of the regular school semester.

Southern Regional Education Board's Electronic Campus's search tool lists courses by semester offered by schools in the southern region of the United States. You may find courses offered at a Louisiana institution of higher learning as well as those offered in other states.

LSU’s Independent Study program web site may help you find a course you need. Check out the program site for important information on policies and procedures.
