search tool lists courses by semester offered by schools in the southern region of the United States. You may find courses offered at a Louisiana institution of higher learning as well as those offered in other states.
Admissions: As with all courses at UNO, students must be admitted to the university prior to registering. Admissions information is available on the UNO Admissions page. Students may also wish to visit the UNO Catalog. Complete information on admissions and graduation requirements, degree programs and courses, financial aid and other important topics can be found on the UNO home page.
Financial Aid: Financial aid information can be found here.
Advising: Just like on-campus students, online learning students have access to the services of an academic advisor. This person is assigned by the college granting the student’s degree. Contact your college office or the director of your degree program to find out how to arrange for academic advising. Note: Academic advising is often required. Check with your college office for specifics.
Registration: Registering for a distance learning course is no different from registering for a course taught at one of UNO’s campuses. Information on registration can be found here.
Paying Fees: Fee schedules and information on paying fees can be found here.
Getting Text Books: Text books for your course(s) are made available for purchase in the UNO Bookstore. The same goes for course packs of readings assembled by your instructor from other sources. You can contact the UNO Bookstore for information and how to get books shipped to you.
In addition, you may order your text books from a number of available online providers. Try searching for "textbooks online" on Google (http://www.google.com/) or your favorite search engine. Text book sites include: www.ecampus.com, www.amazon.com, and www.textbookx.com.
* Note that course instructors do not always opt for a traditional text book. He or she may opt to use an online source or a course pack. Check your course syllabus for details on what your instructor is using.
